Intro to CMOS / Prototyping & Schematic Drawing
November 11
A two part crash course in noise making! This pair of classes will teach you how to prototype and design your own noise machine / analog synthesizer!

Part 1 will introduce the basic components we will use, how they work, and how to use them.
Part 2 will be an opportunity to design and document your own synthesizer! We will learn basic schematic reading and drawing, while prototyping a custom instrument! The emphasis of this course is on experimentation, exploration, and the use of the most important tool you possess- your ears!!

All experience levels are welcome! Students are free to take both parts, or just one. Beginners are highly encouraged to take both!
These workshops will be lead by Noa Ver and Zach D'Agostino of the project Sea Moss. Sea Moss concentrates on building home-made electronics, oscillators, and noise machines using low-cost materials, found objects and a love of sound. We aim to provide people at all levels of experience with the tools and knowledge to work with and prototype a variety of electronic instruments. Sea Moss is based in Portland, performs regularly and enjoys exploring the line between composition, noise and improvised sound.

Part 1 Intro to CMOS
2-4pm
$15

Part 2 Prototyping and Schematic Drawing
5-8pm
$15

Part 1 & Part 2
2-8pm
