Introduction To Ableton Monday January 16th
In this introductory course, we’ll be going over the fundamentals of music production in Ableton Live. The course materials range from understanding key concepts and terminology (DAW, MIDI, etc.) to general workflow tips and best practices.
Before the workshop, participants are encouraged to download the Ableton 9 Trial and take a look around – this familiarity will help solidify the concepts presented in the course. (Download free live trial at the Ableton Website)
The course is aimed at beginners, but should also provide useful context for intermediate users looking to improve basic understanding of the software.
Jerry Joiner is a musician / experience designer / multi-instrumentalist living in Portland, Oregon. Jerry loves asking questions and makes art in an effort to understand the many possible answers. This curiosity has manifested itself in the form of a solo looping project called Girlfriends, working for software companies Valve Corporation and Bandcamp, and playing shows internationally in various bands.
This course is happening on Monday January 16th from 7pm-9pm and is open to all. Cost of enrollment to the course is $10-15 sliding scale. Course participants are not required to bring anything, but encouraged to bring a laptop with the Ableton Live demo installed. If you do not have access to a laptop, let us know and we can do our best to accommodate your needs.
