Pod Blotz

Pod Blotz is a Modern Electronics/Abstract Techno/Rhythmic Industrial/Noise and Experimental Music project located in Los Angeles. The sound is an otherworldly, cathartic mix of modular electronics, vocals, rhythmic elements, tape manipulation, metals, and field recordings. Pod Blotz has toured extensively and performed at Hospital Productions Festival, San Francisco Electronic Music Festival, Colour Out of Space Festival, Yerba Beuna Center for the Arts, Berkeley Art Museum, and Contemporary Jewish Museum. This long-standing project has released music on L.I.E.S. (NYC, Paris), Chocolate Monk (UK), Nostilevo (LA), Conjunto Vacio (Spain), Difficult Interactions (LA), Clan Destine Records (UK), Dungeon Taxis (NZ/NYC) and currently has a new full-length LP on Dais Records (LA/NYC). Poling is a recipient of the Mike Kelley Foundation Grant and their visual art is represented by Cult Exhibitions in San Francisco.

Patricia Wolf

Patricia Wolf is a musician, sound designer, and curator residing in Portland, Oregon. Wolf uses electronics, voice, and field recordings to produce non-linear compositions that draw listeners to a hypnotic inner world. Her use of melody, repetition, and phase shifting manipulate the listeners' perception of time, conjuring vivid textures and atmospheres. In addition to working as a sound designer for Novation, Wolf is also the co-founder of Variform, a gallery and curatorial organization that focuses on sound art and modern composition. She is a recipient of the Precipice Fund, a grant funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Arts.

Portland-based multimedia artist Veronica "Vern" Avola makes electronic music that combines a ferocious wall of sound with a deceptively subtle sense of dynamics. One could call it noise music, except that Avola puts enough into weirdly shifting harmonics as she does into abrasion. One could also call it drone, but Avola's approach to synth music is too rhythmic, itchy, and restless to fit easily under that label. She's shared bills with artists including metal band Big Business, long-running experimental rock outfit Oxbow, and has collaborated with electro-pop eccentric EMA, to give you some idea of the difficulty of pigeonholing the project. She has been performing live music since 2005, and has been performing solo live since 2008. She's had the honor of having several releases on labels such as Gravity Records, An Out Recordings, Accident Prone Records and Nadine Records, as well as releasing her most current works on her own label EMS Records.
